Too Close For Comfort: Great White Shark Comes Face To Face With Diver
A NOSEY great white shark shows a daring diver its friendlier side in Guadalupe, Mexico. Baring its razor sharp teeth the curious predator managed to poke its head through what was supposedly a shark proof cage. Filmed in Guadalupe, Mexico, the footage shows a team of divers awaiting the arrival of sharks after luring the animals to them with the use of tuna heads hanging from ropes. The team of experienced divers however could not have bargained for such a close encounter with one of the animal kingdom’s most efficient killing machines.

Amputee Mum Finds Happiness After Suicide Attempt
A MUM has told of the horrific moment she lost her legs - after lying in front of a train in an attempt to take her own life. Pretty Helen Galsworthy was just 18 years old when she walked on to the tracks close to her home in Eastleigh, Hampshire. Suffering from depression and addicted to cocaine, she wanted to end her life. But she moved just as the train approached - taking off both legs below the knee. Incredibly, Helen was conscious for just long enough to see her detached legs lying on the track. Thankfully, a passing dog walker found her and she was rushed to hospital. Now, seven years later, 25-year-old Helen says she can finally talk about the ordeal and coming to terms with being an amputee. And she is moving on with her life after having a little boy, Thomas.

Elephant Attack: Circus Animal Lifts Car Off The Ground
A RAMPAGING circus elephant smashes a car and terrifies holidaymakers after appearing to be beaten by a handler. Filmed in Danish beach town Karrebaeksminde, this shocking footage was captured by tourist Oddmar Nygard, 48, last weekend. The video begins when three elephants become agitated after being bathed in the sea in front of a large crowd. As the circus workers start to lose control, the huge beasts veer dangerously close to onlookers, including babies in prams and an elderly man in a mobility scooter – who had to be lifted off the road to safety. One of the colossal animals looks increasingly distressed and flies into a rage after it is apparently struck with a metal crowbar by one of the keepers.

9ft Bull Shark Spotted In Florida 'Backyard'
UNSETTLING video footage shows a shark prowling in the BACKYARD of one stunned Florida resident’s home. Dick Frey, 69, shot the frightening footage two week's ago from his home in Bonita Springs. In the video, the nine foot bull shark is spotted swimming close to the docks through the channel just outside his building.

Lake Of Fire: Drone Footage Of Icelandic Lava River
A DRONE camera flies over a red hot lava lake in freezing cold Iceland and nearly melts in the process. The stunning footage was captured by US videographer Eric Cheng in February and shows smoke and fire burning off the black marbled lava. The lake is part of the huge Holuhraun lava field which started erupting in the Nordic country in 2014 and is around 84 sq km – which is almost the size of Manhattan.

Sporty sisters Maria and Valery Bystritskii may look innocent - but they're actually boy-beating cage fighters. The pair, aged just 11 and 10, enjoy gymnastics, painting and skiing like normal kids, but can also punch, grapple and submit opponents using slick mixed-martial arts manoeuvres. Both are students at Bunny's Gym in Winchester, Tennessee, where children as young as four are taught mixed martial arts or MMA, the sport popularised by the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

India’s ‘Birdman’ Feeds 4,000 Parakeets A Day
Parakeets gather on wires in front of Sekar's house on September 23, 2015 in Chennai, India. A BIG-HEARTED bird lover has been feeding thousands of wild parakeets twice a day for 10 years - from the comfort of his own home. Among the hustle and bustle of Chennai in southern India, 62-year-old Sekar - known as 'India's Birdman' - rises at 4am to prepare the feed for his feathered friends. The enthusiast ornithologist, who works as a camera technician, prepares thick rows of rice on planks of wood on his roof terrace. Up to 4,000 parakeets a day then brighten up the sprawling streets of Chennai in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, as they flock to Sekar's home.

Together Forever: Conjoined Twins Don’t Want To Be Separated
CONJOINED twins Pin and Pan’s bond is so strong that they don’t want to be separated - even if it proved medically possible. The seven-year-old sisters, from Thailand, were born with their own heads, torsos, and arms but are connected at the waist. The duo share a pair of legs, with Pin having control of one and Pan controlling the other, and have learned to walk, dress, eat - and even ride a tricycle - as one. The twins live in Nakhon Sawan, around 250km north of Bangkok, with their grandparents - who describe them as “normal, happy" children.

Ultimate Cat Lady: Woman Shares Her Home With 1,100 Felines
A caring cat lady has given up her 4,200 square foot home to more than a thousand felines. Sixty-seven-year-old Lynea Lattanzio now lives in a trailer on her six acre property and allows the cats to run freely through the five bedroom house. Today she runs Cat House On The Kings which is California’s largest no-cage, no kill sanctuary for feral and abandoned cats. Lynea and her team of volunteers care for about 800 adult cats and 300 kittens. The team starts feedings at the shelter at 4am and they also give medical attention to critically ill cats. Modern Caveman: Man Builds A $230,000 House In 700-Year-Old Cave
THE pressures of modern life mean that most of us have probably dreamt at one time or another of fleeing to the hills. But real-life caveman Angelo Mastropietro has made his hermit dream a reality - by spending over £160,000 turning a 700-year-old cave, carved into 250 million year old sandstone cliffs in the the Wyre Forest, into his dream home. The 38-year-old, originally from Worcestershire, was living a high-flying life as the head of a successful recruitment company in Australia when he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2007. The condition led to him being temporarily paralysed - and inspired him to seek a simpler life.

Heaven and Hell: Mount Etna Erupts
An angry Mount Etna scorches the skies over Sicily with a tremendous eruption. Taken on December 3 by Sicilian photographer Marco Restivo, 29, these incredible pictures show Europe's tallest active volcano spitting fire and sending plumes of smoke into the air. This is the first eruption to reach the surface of Etna's Voragine crater in two years. Snapper Marco used photo editing software to overlap five images to create one single picture which shows volcano lightning under a cloud of dense smoke.

POLE dancers show off their AQUA-batic skills as they run through their routines underwater. Professional photographer Brett Stanley, 40, set out to capture the grace of the dancers' moves when taken out of the context of a strip club. The elegant images feature a mixture of amateur pole dancers and novices keen on grappling with the logistical challenges of pole dancing underwater. Shot over a few months, Brett worked with the dancers to create the series, teaching them how to hold their breath under the water and collaborating on which poses worked best. "I Slept Through My Son's Birth"
A mother has no recollection of the birth of her first born because she was ASLEEP. Jody Robson, 24, from Birmingham, falls asleep for up to 11 days at a time and can take weeks to emerge from her stupor. Although she has not been formally diagnosed, Jody believes she has Kleine Levin Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that sees those afflicted unable to rouse from sleep for days or even weeks on end. Jody’s episodes are so severe that she has no recollection of several Christmases and even slept through the birth of her first child.

An aspiring model has bared her leg for the first time in ten years after a rare condition led to it ballooning in size. Meagan Barnard’s lymphedema left her feeling suicidal and alone after she refused to talk with her family and friends about it. She hid her leg under baggy clothes and refused to wear a dress or a skirt for more than a decade when her school friends called her the Michelin Man and other cruel nicknames. Amazingly Meagan even managed to hide the condition from her boyfriend of two years, Robert Neidenfeuhr, 27. Despite her insecurities Meagan has decided to go public about the condition in the hope that other young girls do not suffer in silence like she did.

Scaredy Cat: Buffalo Foils Lion Attack By Puncturing Tyre
HAVING already flipped one lion, a never-say-die buffalo found an ingenious way to shake off its second attacker - by using its horns to puncture a car tyre. The resulting loud release of air was enough to scare away the big cat, forcing it to release its vice-like grip and flee. The buffalo was targeted by a pair of male lions but had already managed to dispatch the first one by flipping him into the air with its horns, leaving the lion with a gaping leg wound. The dramatic scene unfolded in front of cars full of tourists in Kruger National Park, South Africa - where it was caught on video by Hannes van Aswegen and photographed by Gerda Niemann.

Adorable Newborn Rhino Rescued After Being Abandoned By Its Mother
A baby rhino abandoned as a newborn due to a case of mistaken identity was saved by a local rescue team. The rhino, now one month old, lives with the team at Aquila Rescue Centre, who have developed an 18 month plan to reintroduce him into the wild.
Looking after the young calf is a full-time occupation, with the baby needing to be fed every two hours. He has also be assigned a mentor to teach him how to graze, something his mother would have done.

Snake vs 3-year-old: Lizard King Dad Lets Kids Play With Huge Reptiles
A FATHER allows his three young children to play with his 19ft reticulated python and huge lizard collection. Eric LeBlanc is a reptile enthusiast who owns hundreds of lizards and snakes. He recently had to move dozens of the apex predators into his home when a fire at his reptile store killed some of his animals and injured many more. Despite the danger the animals could pose he has no problem allowing his three children Erica, three, Larry, four, and Katie, seven, to handle them.

Howzat? Armless Cricketer Makes State Team
A BUDDING cricketer has defied the odds after mastering the sport despite having no arms. Amir Hussain Lone lost both his arms aged just eight years old in a tragic accident at his father’s sawmill. Ironically dad Bashir made cricket bats at the mill and had to sell the business to pay for his son’s treatment. But the injuries weren’t enough to stop Amir’s love of the game. Now aged 26 and captain of the Jammu and Kashmir state para-cricket team, Amir is able to bat, bowl and even catch out opponents using his feet. His unusual technique for batting involves holding the bat between his neck and shoulder. Amir, from Indian-administered Kashmir, bowls with his toes using a sweeping leg movement to launch the cricket ball.
